Aston Martin Aramco F1 x Toy Story
This project marked my very first helmet design. An iconic collaboration between Toy Story and Aston Martin Aramco F1. Having the opportunity to work on a design that combined the playful, nostalgic world of Toy Story with the high performance identity of Aston Martin Aramco F1was both exciting and incredibly rewarding!
The thought process behind the concept was to recreate Buzz Lightyears chest piece as the helmet design for multiple reasons, the famous "To infinity and beyond" quote from this particular character leant itself to the champion attitude of racing especially within F1 but also the chest piece is designed on a spherical 3D shape so taking this approached helped create an accurate resemblance of Buzz Lightyears appearance.
As my first experience designing a helmet, it became a valuable learning opportunity that gave me insight into both the creative and practical aspects of designing on a 3D spherical shape. From initial concepts through to refining the final visuals, I gained confidence in my workflow and a deeper appreciation for the level of detail required in helmet livery design.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to contribute to a project like this so early on, and it has motivated me to continue developing my skills and exploring future work within motorsport and brand collaborations.
